Upon leaving York he worked as a programmer, and became interested in computer graphics while working for Cambridge Animation Systems. In 1998 he took up the position of Senior Lecturer at the National Centre for Computer Animation in Bournemouth.
Since then he has written two books on rendering, and presented work at Siggraph, the Pixar User group, in the Journal of Grahics tools, and the Imaging Science Journal. He is a member of the Eurographics UK Executive Committee.
